12/8/2022 0 Comments Galaxy s6 active timer app![]() ![]() I have as many icons on the lower half of my home screen as you could fit in a zoomed out iphone plus. #GALAXY S6 ACTIVE TIMER APP PLUS#Lots of gestures and shorcuts, plus I can really cram the icons in. I'm using the nova launcher since so many people recommended it and it's awesome for the whole efficiency thing I like so much. Plus just being able to completely customize the phone is great. This thing is easily 10-20x faster than iPhone since it gives you that control over apps and the UI that iOS doesnt. Iphone 6 will launch an app about the same speed and sometimes faster than s6. The bus will get you there but you have no control, you have to stop at each stop whether you actually need to or not. You simply can't get this level of control in iOS.įor me it's the difference between having a car and riding a public bus. I have an app that stays active and opens an overlay of all my favorite apps over top any other app so I can quickly switch between my favorites without using the app switcher or backing to home. you can customize the controls, and a great deal of the UI. :]Īpps can activate activities in other apps. Plus, I also have my s6 start playing music on my sonos when i get home which ifttt doesn't support. I actually was able to get it to work a little on iPhone using ifttt and location services. Currently it's just on a timer, but I'm gonna set it up so it also checks gps and delays the wifi scanning based on how far I am away from home. I doubt you could do it on iPhone as it n probably won't connect to wifi until you activate th screen, in android, I can have the device wake, scan for wifi, connect, and send hue commands all while the screen is off. #GALAXY S6 ACTIVE TIMER APP HOW TO#I spent a ton of hours trying to figure out how to get a way to do this with my iphone, where as android it's super easy, relatively speaking. It automatically watches for my home wifi after work and turns the lights on as I approach the door. In fact when coming home from work I don't even have to pull the phone out of my pocket. I've been able to disable the lock screen, have it default to home, and use a widget to control the app rather than having to open it. not to mention in apples version I have to suffer their slow animations, while on android I've doubled the animation speed. It's the difference between almost 10 seconds before to barely 1 second now. Activate screen > swipe over one to where my widget remotes are > turns lights on. Here's what I've been able to do on android. Activate screen > swipe to unlock > press home to get to main screen > launch hue app > wait for it to connect > turn lights on. I have hue lights at home and to control them with my iphone I had to do this. ![]() Otherwise, im not a fan of the complete lack of control you get in iOS.Īnyways, here's an examale of why I'm loving android over iOS. I was an android early adopter and that phone ran like garbage, which is why i used iPhone for several years. IOS7 introduced a bunch of slow animations and iOS just hasn't been quite as snappy as it was on iOS6. When they went from iOS6 to iOS7 I knew i needed to check out android again, but was stuck on contract for a while. I was originally on iPhone just for their UI performance. ![]()
